Florence was founded as a Roman city, but is widely considered the birthplace of the Renaissance. Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and is home to some of the best art, architecture and cultural treasures in Europe.

Florence is located on the main railway and road that connects northern Italy with Rome, and there are two major railway stations, Firenze - Rifredi and Campo di Marte. Florence has two stations in the north, FireNze and Camposano, which handle regional traffic from the south, while Fire Nze, CampO di marte, handles local traffic in the east and north-west of the city. It is home to one of the most important universities in Italy, the University of Florence, as well as a number of museums, museums and galleries.
